Sanura Exotics Bengal and Savannah hybrid kittens

F1 Savannah kitten

The Savannah Cat is a fairly new, rare breed of domestic cat. A Savannah Cat is the result of crossing a wild African Serval cat to a domestic cat. The African Serval is a 30 to 40 lb. wild cat that requires licensing, permits, and a facility to house them. Savannah Cats are a great alternative to owning an actual wild cat. The Savannah cat combines the beautiful "wild" look of the African Serval with the playful and affectionate disposition of the domestic cat. There are very few Savannahs currently in existence, and the demand for them is quite high. The first documented breeding of an African Serval to a domestic cat was in the mid 1980's. The breed got Registration Status with The International Cat Association (TICA) in 1999 and Evaluation Status with TICA in 2001.

The Savannah Cat personality
The Savannah Cat is a intelligent ,energetic, breed of cat. Savannah cats act much like a dog. They can learn their name and can be leash trained if started young. Most Savannah Cats even play in water! They are very agile and can most likely jump to the highest place in your home. Savannah cats can open cabinets, find hidden toys, and learn to play fetch. Our F1 Savannah, Nyah, loves to play tug of war with her toys and comes when her name is called. Our F5 Savannah stud “Jag” will hold his hands up like a child to be picked up .Savannah cats get very attached to their "human" families. Our Savannah Cats want to very much be around us and involved with family activities. Each Savannah Cat will have a unique personality I'm sure you will just adore! We could never be with out a Savannah Cat in our home! Gender makes no difference in Savannah cat temperament.

Are Savannah Cats aggressive?

I get inquiries all the time asking whether or not my Savannah kittens will hurt their dogs or cats,or even children!Just because Savannah Cats have wild blood doesn't mean they aggressive. I have all generations of Savannah Cats around domestic cats ,Bengal Cats, and even our 16 year old cat. Every cat ,domestic or not has their own personalities. Some want to be held, some are more reserved. Some more active, some more laid back. We try and match the kittens personality with their new families.

When purchasing a Savannah cat be positive you are going to give him/her a forever home. Savannahs create strong bonds with their owners so make this a lifetime commitment! If re-homing your Savannah cannot be avoided, we will gladly take them and find a new home .

Do Savannahs get along with other pets?

Absolutely! I feel hybrids are more tolerate of dogs than my domestics.Of course, like with any animal, they need transition time to get use to new surroundings.

SAVANNAH CAT CARE
As far as care of our Savannah Cats, we feed only high quality cat foods with no animal bi-products in them. Since all cats are carnivores,we feed some raw and some cooked meats just as we do our domestic cats.We think a wide variety of food provides optimal health.Give Savannah cats the best vet care as you would all your pets!

Will Savannah Cats use the litter box?! Will they spray?!

Our Savannah kittens use a litter box just as any domestic cat does .Momma cat teaches them at a young age. As far as spraying, cats need to be fixed around 5 or 6 months of age to prevent spray or marking of territory. Although some Savannahs male cats are sterile they still have the male hormones and will most likely start to spray and mark their territory if not neutered in time. Female cats spray too so please make sure to spay them before 6 months of age as well! A fixed pet is healthier and happier and will not yearn to be outside like an unfixed cat does.
